YOU Advisory group meets, names officers

As the YOU team continues its Virtual Office Hours, gaining valuable insights from members of the public about their hopes for the facility, the YOU Advisory Committee has been meeting periodically and is participating in the design process. The committee also recently named its officers: L’Quette Taylor, chair; Karmen Smallwood, vice chair; and Dr. Richard Hooley, secretary.

The creation of the Advisory Committee was part of the sale and purchase agreement approved by the City of Poughkeepsie Common Council and Dutchess County Legislature to transfer the former YMCA property from the city to the county to build a new youth facility. The committee is developing its tasks and objectives and will offer recommendations on programming as the YOU moves into the construction stages.
